The Best Vegan Snacks for When You’re Craving Something Crunchy
There’s a reason that we sell coin pouches that say “Slut 4 Snacks,” and it’s because that is exactly what we are. One of my favorite things about owning Good Judy’s is being able to introduce Grand Rapids to some amazing small brands that you won’t find in our local big box stores. In the same way I spent way too much time curating my playlists for my old cycling classes, I spend that much energy curating our shelves with some of the best snacks on the market today.
Here are the best crunchy vegan snacks on our shelves right now, and why we think you’ll love them!
Evie’s Texas Pecans
Have you ever been to a state fair and smelled the roasted cinnamon nuts that they smell and thought “oh boy, is this heaven?” well, that’s kind of what these are like. Evie’s Texas Pecans are what happens when a “better-for-you snack” is also actually freaking delicious. They’re crunchy, flavor-forward, and made with Texas-grown pecans straight from a family farm, aka tree-to-bag energy we can get behind. Pecans are naturally packed with good fats and fiber, and Evie’s keeps things simple and snackable with sweet + savory flavors like Brown Butter Rub, Banana Bread, Cinnamon Churro, and Sweet & Salty, that feel like a treat but still fit the health-nut vibe. Basically: the kind of snack you start eating “just a few” of… and then suddenly it’s gone.
Why we love this brand:
Women Owned
1/3 of the added sugar that other leading brands have
Addictively crunchy
Sourced from family-owned regenerative farms in Texas
Absurd Snacks
Think Chex Mix, but allergen-friendly and ridiculously good (not that Chex Mix isn’t already perfect — it can be a little too rich sometimes). Absurd Snacks makes crunchy, nostalgic snack mixes without the top allergens, so they’re easy to share and great for lunchboxes, classrooms, and basically everyone.
The Maple Cinnamon flavor isn’t super sweet, more cozy than candy, so if you’re not into sugary snacks, you’ll love it. Plus, they’re higher in protein, which we always appreciate. Their other flavor is more savory and would go great with a charcuterie board and some wine.
Why we love this brand:
Allergen-friendly by design (not an afterthought)
Classic snack vibes, better ingredients (not too salty, not too sweet)
Kid-friendly
Made in Grand Rapids, MI
The owners are so freaking nice (and shockingly young, which is cool to see them being
The Good Crisp Company
Good Crisps are basically the chip you reach for when you want Pringles energy, but with a cleaner ingredient list and way better vibes. They’re crunchy, salty, dangerously snackable, and (bless) totally vegan, so everyone can get in on the fun.
They’ve got that perfect “one more chip” texture, but without dairy or weird stuff — just classic flavors that hit every time. If you’re looking for a snack that feels nostalgic and checks the vegan box, these are a no-brainer pantry staple.
Why we love this brand:
Vegan + dairy-free (snackable for more people)
Better than Pringles-style crunch with better ingredients
Classic flavors that actually hit (that jalapeno flavor is fire)
Perfect pantry staple for lunchboxes, parties, and “oops I ate the whole can” moments
Kids love!
Stellar Pretzels
Stellar Pretzel Braids are the kind of snack that makes health nuts and flavor freaks equally happy. They’re 100% vegan, baked (not fried), and made with simple ingredients — so you get that satisfying salty crunch without the “what did I just eat?” feeling. The braid shape isn’t just cute either: it’s extra crunchy and perfect for dipping, snacking, and pretending you’ll only have a few. And let’s face it, I’ll tell myself that I' won’t eat the whole bag in a day, but I will… and you know what.. YOLO. We currently have a few of the most popular flavors on our shelves like th Bold & Herby and French Dijon, but we like to keep these on steady rotations so always be on the lookout for their other great flavors.
Why we love this brand:
They’re a woman-owned, family-run company founded by a mother–daughter duo (Elisabeth + Gina Galvin).
Every bag features art from an emerging artist — they actively partner with artists and spotlight their work on the packaging.
