Our Favorite Plant-Based, Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurants/Menus in Grand Rapids

As a plant-forward juice bar in Grand Rapids, we love highlighting other restaurants that align with our values. Grand Rapids has an incredible lineup of plant-based, vegan, and or vegetarian restaurants that make eating well feel exciting, accessible, and delicious. Whether you’re fully plant-based or just looking to eat more veggies, these local spots are doing it right. While we don’t have many fully plant-based restaurants, we do have some amazing restaurants with insanely great vegan/vegetarian menu options that will blow your mind.

Good Judy’s Market & Juice Bar

Obviously, we couldn’t put together a guide to plant-based food in Grand Rapids without giving a little love to Good Judy’s. We’re a plant-forward café and juice bar with a 100% vegetarian menu, and most of our dishes can easily be made vegan. All of our smoothies and cold-pressed juices are fully plant-based, and our dressings are made fresh in-house.

One of our longtime favorites is the Green Tahini Salad, which packs 15g of plant-based protein and is served with our creamy Lemon Tahini dressing. We also keep a rotating seasonal salad that’s always vegan — right now it’s the Maple Crunch Salad, featuring a vegan maple “bacon” vinaigrette that’s honestly good enough to drink. Beyond the menu, our iconic blue snack shelves are stocked with a wide selection of vegan and plant-based snacks and candies, making Good Judy’s a go-to stop for both meals and treats. Find us on Wealthy Street, near the corner of Wealthy and Fuller.

Little Africa Ethiopian Cuisine

Quaint, unassuming, and all vegetarian! This Grand Rapids favorite is located just outside of downtown in the East Hills neighborhood and is a dream for vegetarians and vegans, with a menu full of rich, spiced, plant-based dishes that are meant to be shared. Think tender lentils, perfectly seasoned vegetables, and injera that somehow makes everything taste even better. Eating here always feels like a full experience — hands-on, communal, and deeply satisfying. Heads up, this place is cash only! Great for a casual date, and then head next door for fancy cocktails! Get the Spicy Tomato Soup, it’s so good when you’re sick.

Stella’s Lounge

Stella’s Lounge is one of those downtown Grand Rapids spots that just gets it. Known for their late-night diner vibes and stacked menu, Stella’s also happens to be a dream for vegetarians, vegans, and anyone eating plant-based. Their veggie and vegan options are plentiful, indulgent, and never feel like an afterthought. Their menu leans more towards comfort and decadence because sometimes you need plant-based comforts. They get bonus points for being open late — because sometimes you need vegan food after dark. We typically go for their Full Montie Nachos, Poor Man’s Potato Wings, and their Veggie Burger (a house-made black bean patty). Every Monday, they have a plant-based special, which includes 1/2 off Vegan Supreme, Chick(pea) Wings, Not a Samosa Wrap, Hippie Stuffed, and Vegan Chili Cheese Fries.

Pind Indian Cuisine

My love for Indian food runs deep — right up there with Celine Dion and chocolate. Pind Indian Cuisine is our go-to spot in downtown Grand Rapids for bold flavors and seriously good vegetarian and vegan-friendly Indian food. Their menu is packed with plant-based classics like creamy lentils, spiced chickpeas, fragrant curries, and vegetables that truly shine on their own. I usually order the dal tarka or dal makhni (because lentils forever), and somehow still end up dreaming about leftovers before I’ve even paid the bill. Generous portions, plenty of spice, and a team that always makes you feel well taken care of make Pind an easy favorite.

Kaffiene Place

Kaffeine Place is a plant-forward favorite located in the Midtown neighborhood of Grand Rapids, serving bold, South Korean-inspired flavors that make eating your veggies feel exciting. Their menu leans vegetarian and vegan-friendly, with dishes that are comforting, colorful, and full of spice. Whether you’re popping in for coffee (or a jasmine-flavored matcha, insert heart eye emoji, brunch, or a nicer meal that just happens to be plant-based, Kaffeine Place proves that good food doesn’t need meat to be filling and fancy. Plus, the chef/owner, Sun, is literally a ray of sunshine! Probably one of the sweetest humans you’ll ever meet. If you get the Vegetarian Burrito, you won’t be upset, but the Tofu Bulgogi Skillet is fab! While I haven’t personally had their ramen, our customers have told us it’s a must-try, and if you have gluten-free friends, this place has a few great gluten-free options as well!
