Best Queer-Owned Businesses in Grand Rapids, MI (Local Favorites We Love)
We’re a little biased as a queer-owned business ourselves, but there really are some awesome small businesses that are a must-visit when you’re exploring everything Grand Rapids and the greater West Michigan area have to offer.
Grand Rapids is home to a vibrant and growing community of LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs whose businesses enrich our city with creativity, inclusivity, and connection. When you support queer-owned businesses, you’re not only investing in local entrepreneurship but also in spaces that uplift diversity and make GR feel like home for everyone.
Here are some standout queer-owned spots worth supporting, perfect for grabbing a bite, finding a gift, or treating yourself to something special!
Good Judy's Market & Juice Bar
Juice & Smoothie Shop/Snack Shop
Right in the heart of Eastown/Uptown is Good Judy’s — one of Grand Rapids’ freshest queer-owned food spots and a love letter to community. We serve up organic cold-pressed juices, smoothies, salads, and nourishing bowls alongside a thoughtfully curated market featuring snacks from other minority-owned brands. Our name comes from queer history (“good Judy,” if you know you know) and reflects what we’re all about: pride, care, and showing up for each other.
Nearly everything on our menu is scratch-made in-house using local and organic produce whenever possible (because yes, we’re committed — but no, we’re not growing pineapples in Michigan). Beyond the food, Good Judy’s is a space for connection. We host monthly in-store yoga, collaborate with queer artists on our merch, and regularly team up with other queer-owned businesses to raise funds and support our community.
Whether you’re stopping in for a nutrient-packed green juice, a superfood smoothie bowl, or just a place to hang out and feel seen, Good Judy’s is here to fuel your day — and celebrate queer joy, accessibility, and representation in wellness.
Fox Naturals
Perfume store/Apothecary
There’s something undeniably magical about what Patrick and Lucas have built. Call it witchy, call it alchemy, call it pure intention — whatever it is, this space has become a favorite not just on Wealthy Street, but throughout Grand Rapids. Fox Naturals is a queer-owned apothecary and boutique offering handcrafted botanical perfumes and clean beauty products. From unique gender-neutral fragrances to plant-based skincare essentials, everything in the shop is made with intention and care — perfect for self-care rituals or thoughtful gifts. The welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff make it a must-visit if you’re exploring local, queer-led businesses in Uptown Grand Rapids. Michigan
Fun Fact: In 2023, we did a limited-edition Pride collaboration with Fox Naturals to create a Body Smoothie (a smoothie-inspired lotion).
The Apartment Lounge
Queer Bar/Lounge
The Apartment Lounge — or “The Apartment,” as locals call it — is a queer-owned bar in Grand Rapids that feels like hanging out in your best friend’s living room, complete with great music videos and the occasional bowl of popcorn. Known for its cozy, welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of community, this LGBTQ+ owned space is all about connection and comfort. Whether you’re stopping in for a low-key night out or celebrating something special, The Apartment Lounge offers an inclusive place to relax and feel at home. It’s more of a laid-back bar than a dance club, so if you’re looking to hit the dance floor, Rumors Night Club is just up the street.
The Cakabakery
Bakery/Custom Cakes
The Cakabakery is a queer-owned bakery in Grand Rapids known for beautifully crafted cakes, cupcakes, and sweet treats made with equal parts care and flavor. While the cakes are always a hit, locals especially love their ooey-gooey cookies — the big, soft ones that are just a little underbaked in the middle. Jason and the team do an incredible job creating desserts that look as good as they taste, whether it’s a custom celebration cake or an everyday treat. Their adorable shop sits on Fulton Street just outside of downtown Grand Rapids, conveniently close to another local favorite, Stovetop Coffee Roasters. From special occasions to casual cravings, this LGBTQ+ owned business brings creativity, joy, and sweetness to every bite.

Transfigure Print Co. is a standout example of how supporting queer-owned businesses in Grand Rapids helps strengthen both art and community. From cheeky stickers to zines and queer-themed apparel, this place has it all. We also team up with Bailey and the crew every year to print our apparel for the shop. They do a phenomenal job at custom orders!

Gift Shop
Rebel Gift Shop is a go-to queer-owned shop in Grand Rapids for finding thoughtful, fun, and genuinely great gifts. Whether you’re shopping for someone else or treating yourself, the space is filled with well-curated finds — from snarky notepads and statement jewelry to baby onesies, wine glasses, Michigan-made art, and handmade paper goods. It’s the kind of place where there’s always something special waiting to be discovered. Reader, be warned, once you stop in, you won’t be able to stop. It’s nearly impossible to leave this place without buying something special. Plus, the staff and owners are some of the kindest humans you’ll ever meet.
Morning Ritual
Coffee Shop
Morning Ritual is a queer-owned coffee shop on the west side of Grand Rapids, MI, built for community, creativity, and connection. They center local artists and bring people together through coffee, conversation, music, and art.
Known for bold flavors and eye-catching drinks, Morning Ritual treats every cup like a work of art. Expect house-made floral and herbal syrups, glitter-infused magic, and flavor combos that break the rules in the best way. Aside from creative drinks, they offer a variety of plant-based breakfast foods, too. Their space is located right in the heart of downtown next to the Calder Plaza, which makes it a great home base for summer (or winter) festivals and other events that are held in the plaza each year. This place has spunk, and the branding is brilliant!
Lost & Found Treasures
Antique/Vintage Resale Shop (Great MCM furniture)
Lost & Found Treasures is a queer-owned vintage and resale shop in Grand Rapids filled with unique finds, nostalgic gems, and truly one-of-a-kind pieces. While there’s a small selection of vintage clothing, they’re best known for their furniture — especially an ever-rotating mix of mid-century modern sofas, chairs, credenzas, and art. The space is massive and constantly being refreshed, making every visit feel like a new discovery. Even better, the shop shares its former warehouse home with three other antique businesses, making it a must-stop for any vintage lover. Connor and I both love exploring Lost & Found, and some of the furniture in our café (including the lounge seating at the front) came straight from this space.
