Giving Back in Grand Rapids: The Local Organizations We Supported (With Your Help!)in 2025

One of our favorite aspects of being a local business is the opportunity to genuinely support our community in meaningful ways. In 2025, we were lucky enough to support a handful of Grand Rapids–based nonprofits and community organizations doing work we genuinely believe in — the kind of work that makes our city more creative, more compassionate, and more connected. Together, we were able to donate over $3k distributed between these local organizations in the form of monetary donations, raffle prizes, and samples.

Here’s a little look into the local charities and organizations we supported in 2025, and why we’re so grateful they’re part of our community.

Our pride shirts were designed by Dean and featured some cute little characters (Kewpies). We donated a portion of the proceeds to the Grand Rapids Trans Foundation.

Showing Up for Our LGBTQ+ Community

Grand Rapids Trans Foundation

The Grand Rapids Trans Foundation does life-changing work for trans and gender-diverse folks right here in our city — from direct financial support to advocacy and community care. Their mission centers dignity, safety, and access, and we’re proud to stand behind an organization that shows up for people in tangible, meaningful ways. Thanks to you, each t-shirt we sold helped support the Grand Rapids Trans Foundation through a portion of the proceeds. They have a fabulous leadership team and have big goals. GRTF has been around for 10 years, and its impact on our local community has been major. As a queer-owned business, we’re committed to supporting the organizations that keep our community safe, thriving, and unapologetically fabulous.

Arts, Creativity & Culture

Arts in Motion

Arts in Motion provides inclusive, community-based dance and movement programs that make the arts accessible to people of all ages and abilities across West Michigan. Their work centers creativity, wellness, and connection, creating spaces where folks can move, express themselves, and feel truly welcomed. We’re proud to support an organization that believes the arts should be for everyone.

Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities

Rooted in the Grandville Avenue corridor, the Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities uplifts local artists, supports cultural programming, and helps neighbors tell their own stories. Their work strengthens community identity and keeps the arts accessible where they’re needed most.

Grand Rapids Film Society

For the film lovers, storytellers, and indie-cinema fans: the Grand Rapids Film Society is doing the work. From screenings to festivals to community events, they create space for connection, conversation, and diverse voices — and help keep Grand Rapids’ creative scene thriving. Plus, bonus points for being located right up the street from us!

Learning, Curiosity & Kids Being Kids

Zoo School

Zoo School takes learning out into the world, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and hands-on exploration. Their place-based approach helps students connect with their surroundings and each other in ways that feel meaningful and empowering. We’re big fans of education that lets kids be curious humans.

Roanoke Ranch For Kids

Roanoke Ranch for Kids supports children and teens across West Michigan through equine-based programs and caring mentorship that help build confidence, resilience, and life skills. By creating safe, supportive spaces where kids can grow through connection and hands-on experiences, they’re doing meaningful work for families in our community — and we’re proud to support their mission.

Neighborhood Love & Community Care

East Hills Council of Neighbors

The East Hills Council of Neighbors works hard to keep one of Grand Rapids’ most vibrant neighborhoods connected, informed, and supported. From advocacy to events to resident engagement, they help make East Hills a place where people feel at home — and that kind of community work matters. They are the ones that bring free concerts to Cherry Park, and make the pickleball courts over there happen too!

Because Dogs Deserve the World

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue is out here doing the good work for pups across West Michigan — rescuing, rehabilitating, and helping dogs find their forever homes. Supporting animal rescue is always close to our hearts, and we’re grateful for the care and compassion they bring to every wagging tail.

Bissle Pet Foundation

BISSELL Pet Foundation is all about helping homeless pets find loving homes and giving shelters the support they need to keep doing lifesaving work. From nationwide Empty the Shelters® adoption events to spay/neuter, microchipping, and emergency relief, their mission is simple: fewer animals in shelters, more animals in homes where they’re loved. Every dollar goes straight to making that happen—and we love them for it. We launched the Blocktail Breeze smoothie this year in collaboration with the BPF to raise awareness about their largest fundraiser of the year!

Looking Ahead

Supporting local Grand Rapids nonprofits is something we care deeply about, and we’re honored to play even a small part in the incredible work these organizations do. Giving locally means investing in our neighbors, our culture, and the future of our city — and we’re excited to keep that energy going into the next year.

If you’re looking for ways to give back in Grand Rapids, we highly recommend checking out these organizations, attending their events, or supporting them however you can. Community looks good on all of us.

Our 2026 theme centers LGBTQ+ issues and immigration justice. As the impact of I.C.E. continues to cause real harm to families and communities across the country, we feel a responsibility to speak up and stand against policies rooted in cruelty and exclusion. Silence isn’t an option — community care is.
